Do you Have a Good Test Plan?

In order to catch each potential problem, your website should be tested in different ways. Below we outline the four major testing considerations.

QA Testing
Check the website design for quality - layout, design, copy, spelling. etc.

System Testing
As well as looking at the layout and design of the site, test its navigational components. The site should be tested in a variety of browsers, operating systems, and platforms.

Component Testing
Check the components of the software design to see if they meet the requirements as specified in the design documents. Examples of components to be tested are: Forms (do they exist?), automated email responses, and personalization attributes (“Dear Mr. Smith”).

Application Testing
The tester checks applications on the site in an attempt to discover deficiencies in them that may not cover expected interactions by a typical user. Examples of applications to be tested are: forms (can you fill them out in a way that causes errors in the site?), Flash presentations (do they load?).
